We would like to inform you about an upcoming event "TEMUN (Tsukuba English Model United Nations)" for its 6th edition. TEMUN is a simulation of the United Nations conference that is held at the University of Tsukuba each year. It is a place where participants demonstrate skills in negotiation and debate in a diplomatically correct way while discussing in English authentic global issues that affect today's world.
In an attempt to develop global leaders who are capable of negotiating and solving global issues, the Model United Nations conferences are organized all around the world.
TEMUN's specificity is its interdisciplinary and trans-academic participation: each year, it is attended by both undergraduate and graduate students who are in different majors humanities, social sciences, engineering, environmental sciences, natural sciences, etc. There are students from other universities and high school students who enjoy TEMUN participation every year.
This year's agenda is “Sustainable development of Food”, which is one of the important global issues. Participants with variable majors will discuss that issue from a multiple perspective to concretize debates into a final resolution like in the UN conference.
The 6th edition of TEMUN is planned to be held as follows. Public participation is welcome at the TEMUN conference.
