    Turkmen Ambassador to Japan Visits President Nagata


    His Excellency Mr. Gurbanmammet Elyasov, the Ambassador of Turkmenistan to Japan, met with President Kyosuke Nagata of the University of Tsukuba on November 10.

    President Nagata talked about his visit to countries in Central Asia, accompanying Prime Minister Shinzo Abe on an official business trip in October. He mentioned that His Excellency Mr. Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, President of Turkmenistan, received an honorary doctorate from the University of Tsukuba in March, 2015. He then explained that the University of Tsukuba has friendly relations with Turkmenistan.

    In response, His Excellency Mr. Gurbanmammet expressed his hopes that Turkmenistan will deepen exchange with Japan in various fields, including science, humanities, education, business, and medical care.

    After the meeting, His Excellency Mr. Gurbanmammet visited the Center for Innovative Medicine and Engineering (CIME) at the University of Tsukuba Hospital. The ambassador then attended as a lecturer the Turkmenistan-Japan Student Forum 2015 being held at University of Tsukuba Hall.
