The 2016 All Japan Indoor Tennis Intercollegiate Championships was held at the Esaka Tennis Center in Suita City in Osaka from November 27 to December 4.
Two students in the University of Tsukuba Tennis Team claimed victory in the women’s doubles tournament. One is a third-year student, Ms. Minori Yonehara, and the other is a second-year student, Ms. Kanako Morisaki. Both students are in the School of Health and Physical Education.
They made a courtesy visit to President Kyosuke Nagata and Vice President for Student Affairs Shin-ichi Tamagawa on December 12, accompanied by Associate Professor Daisuke Mitsuhashi of the Faculty of Health and Sport Sciences (tennis club coach).
All attendees at the courtesy visit reminisced about the tournament. When asked for tips on how to win, they said they believe that having fun was the most important thing to win the games, without putting too much pressure on themselves. At the end of the meeting, President Nagata praised the students for their performance and offered them encouraging words.
