Research Facility Center for Science and Technology

about us

The Research Facility Center for Science and Technology was established on April 1, 2004 from the integration of five separate joint-use scientific research facilities and then reorganized as four facilities on April 1, 2006. The Center operates and manages the facilities with the purpose of further contributing to the development of interdisciplinary research and creation of state-of-the-art research, together with maintaining the university’s research and educational support system.

The Research Facility Center for Science and Technology now includes the Tandem Accelerator Complex (formerly Accelerator Center), the Cryogenics Division, the Chemical Analysis Division, and the Engineering Workshop Division. There is a variety of equipment, such as tandem electrostatic accelerators, low-temperature instruments, analytical equipments, and machine tools used and operated by the four facilities. Personnel at each scientific research facility develop equipment for the advancement of education and research, and conduct multidisciplinary research by utilizing their equipment.
