Pure and Applied Sciences
The Graduate School of Pure and Applied Sciences consists of seven Doctoral Programs; Program in Mathematics, Program in Physics, Program in Chemistry, Program in Frontier Science, Program in Applied Physics, Program in Materials Science and Program in Materials Science and Engineering.
The programs offer high-level education and research training on basic science and technology in cooperation with teachers professors, associate professors and research associates of both pure sciences and engineering, aiming to develop students into researchers and engineers as well as highly specialized professionals with broad vision, excellent research skills, and ability to adapt themselves to rapidly changing demands.
Students of the Program in Materials Science and Engineering (three-year second part only) will stay at the National Institute for Materials Science (NIMS) in Tsukuba for their research under the supervision of the school.
