The 12th Homecoming Day

The 12th Homecoming Day was held on October 11‚ 2009‚ during the 35th University Festival in the Restaurant Plaza at the University of Tsukuba.
The party was attended by a total of 280 guests that included 210 graduates and their family members‚ along with retired faculty members and university staff. The event room was filled with attendees who were enjoying pleasant exchanges.
University President Nobuhiro Yamada‚ the vice presidents‚ the superintendent of the Education Bureau of the Laboratory Schools‚ the director of Tsukuba University Hospital‚ and the provosts and deans of schools and colleges also attended the party. After the welcome address by University President Yamada‚ speeches were made by two graduates. This was followed by a speech made by Executive Director Shozo Horiuchi of Meikeikai on behalf of the guests.
The nostalgia of the campus environment could be felt during this party. Homecoming Day was meaningful for both the university and its graduates as they renewed their friendships and exchanged views about the university. Many graduates who were not able to attend the party also sent messages.
Many schools and colleges of the University of Tsukuba hold alumni reunions on Homecoming Day and its numbers have been increasing year by year with the aim of deepening ties among graduates. We appreciate your frank comments and opinions to further improve the University of Tsukuba Homecoming Day as an opportunity for exchange between the University of Tsukuba and its graduates.
