2012 Entrepreneur Education Course Kickoff Meeting

The 2012 Entrepreneur Education Course Kickoff Meeting was held at the Kasuga Auditorium in Kasuga Area on Tsukuba campus on May 26.

Following the last year's meeting‚ this meeting was held in cooperation with the University of Tsukuba‚ Tsukuba City‚ and Intel Corporation as a regional cooperation project. A lecture with a visiting lecturer who represents various fields‚ and a workshop have been held as part of this meeting.

After Professor Yoji Uchiyama of the Tsukuba Industrial Liaison and Cooperative Research Center made an opening speech‚ two speakers delivered lectures.

Firstly‚ President Tsuyoshi Abe of Intel Corporation gave a lecture titled "Bright Future and Leadership." He explained about leadership that can be developed‚ difference between leadership and management‚ qualification required to be a leader‚ the way to succeed in this rapidly changing society‚ and importance of collaboration.

Secondly‚ President Norio Owada of ABI Inc. gave a lecture entitled "Succession of failures will breed success - infinite challenge of a venture company-."
He spoke on his real experience as a technical expert of making things; for example his attitude of mind to offer benefits to people with making things‚ obsession with a product‚ and the way to make the most of failures.

More than 80 people including students of the University of Tsukuba‚ employees of a private company and a venture company‚ and researchers of laboratories participated in the meeting.
Starting with this kickoff meeting‚ a lecture and workshop of the Entrepreneur Education Course are planned to be held continuously in the future.
