Tanabata Concert was held
Tanabata Concert was held at the entrance hall of the University of Tsukuba Hospital on July 6.
The concert consisted of two parts.
In the first session‚ Professor Masashi Yanagisawa of Center for Behavioral Molecular Genetics played ensemble performance with a musical instrument.
In addition‚ "Tsukuba Daigaku Igaku Philharmony" made up of students of the School of Medicine and Medical Sciences played stringed instruments.
In the second session‚ Nihon Ongaku Kokusai Koryu-kai (Association for International Exchange of Japanese Music) gave performance of traditional Japanese musical instruments‚ koto and shakuhachi‚ with grace and authority.
The audience clapped their hands in rhythm to the familiar music‚ and sang a song of "Tanabata sama" (song for the star festival) together‚ enjoyed their time.
