An awarding ceremony of the 2nd Save-Power Seal Contest was held at the Tsukuba Science Information Center on July 16.
The contest was conducted in collaboration with three parties: Tsukuba City‚ the University of Tsukuba‚ and Intel Cooperation. The objectives were to promote saving electricity‚ foster awareness of energy-related issues‚ and give advice on the effective use of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) devices.

Our university chose four works from among approximately 1‚700 entries to the contest‚ and gave the University of Tsukuba President Award. The four works had a clear message‚ and were effective to promote actions to save the environment.
Award winners made presentations after the ceremony‚ explained that messages of energy saving and environmental-friendliness are hidden in their works. The participants of the contest handed out save-electricity seals to people passing by at the concourse in front of Tsukuba SEIBU department‚ called for cooperation in save-power efforts and conservation of the environment.
