Invitation to the 14th Homecoming Day
The 14th Homecoming Day will be held on October 9 (Sunday). It aims to promote exchanges between alumni and faculty members and contribute to the further development of the University.
We have been inviting alumni who graduated from the University 20 years ago (18 years for the School of Medicine) and their family members since 1998, the University 25th anniversary.
We also have been inviting alumni who graduated the Former University of Library and Information Science 20 years ago and their family members since the 7th Homecoming Day.
Moreover, from the academic year 2011‚ graduates of Graduate School of University of Tsukuba are also invited to this Homecoming Day. Those who graduated the Graduate School during the same period with the said graduates and those in pioneer days (from 1975 to 1979) will be invited.
We hope many participants will meet with their labmates again and enlighten us on history of our Graduate schools on this occasion.
The Homecoming Day coincides with the university festival, "Soho-sai".
Please come together with acquainted classmates and family members. We hope you have a happy time meeting your former teacher and classmates.
Our university has set a slogan of “IMAGINE THE FUTURE” on April 2010, as a vision of what the University of Tsukuba and its members should be, and striving to respond to an era of changes.
Moreover, we are making effort to tackle various issues aiming to foster the human resources who will pave the way for the future.
We have suffered from unprecedented disaster of the Great East Japan Earthquake and Fukushima nuclear accident this year. It has made waves in Japanese society and greatly influenced the national economy and daily life.
I would like to express my sincerest condolences to the victims of the disaster in the eastern Japan, and express my sympathy for the people suffering from the disaster.
With the slogan of "do what one can in one's field", we have kept making effort on revival since the earthquake.
In this present-day, I hope you would participate in the Homecoming Party to share the sense of comfort and courage for tomorrow with old friends, and talk about the shape of our University and students' future.
