Request in regard to the handling of our university contingent to the imposition of the declaration of a state of emergency



The declaration of a state of emergency based on the Act on Special Measures Concerning a Novel Influenza, Etc. for the period from April 25 to May 1, 2021 involving the 4 prefectures of Tokyo, Kyoto, Osaka, and Hyogo was announced officially by the government on April 23. In addition, Ibaraki Prefecture has also announced a request for a self-imposed ban including thorough measures concerning "traveling to and from other prefectures" and "dining" during the Golden Week holidays covering the entirety of the prefecture.

From a standpoint of the prevention of the further spread of COVID-19, students, faculty members, and employees are strongly requested for a self-imposed ban.

Furthermore, our university will continue taking countermeasures according to the following Mode of Operations of Our University (From October 1, 2020) based on the Handling Guidelines for the Prevention of the Spread of COVID-19 (Revised on January 7, 2021) as such.

For the prevention of the further spread of COVID-19, we kindly ask for your cooperation.

Classes Face-to-face classes can be conducted while giving utmost consideration to infection spread.
Use of online classes is also recommended.
Research Research activities will be conducted after taking adequate preventive measures against infection.
Seminars, etc. are recommended to be conducted online to minimize time spent on-campus.
Entry of students to the campus Students can enter the campus as usual with attention to the prevention of infection spread; provided however, that they avoid unnecessarily entering the campus.
Extracurricular Activities Activities can be conducted with attention to the prevention of infection spread.
On-campus meetings If possible, on-campus meetings are conducted online; provided however, that for emergency meetings or those that have a substantial need to be conducted in person, face-to-face meetings are allowed by taking preventive measures against infection spread.
Administrative structure Make the most use of work at home and staggered commuting.
(Additional Entry) The handling of the work at home shall be at the supervisor's discretion based on the form of operation, etc. of each organization.
