Title Opportunity and Challenges of Introducing IB into Japanese Contexts
Abstract Education in the twenty first century must develop student competencies and skills that will enable them to participate successfully in a changing and unpredictable globalized world.
Inquiry based learning, which is the foundation of IB pedagogy, has proved to be a sound pedagogy for this in international school contexts.
Implementing the programmes in a Japanese national setting presents new challenges as well as opportunities.

How can these challenges be addressed to provide maximum opportunities?
