Issuance of Certificates

The procedures for issuing various certificates are as follows. Please check the "Course Registration Procedures" or the "Graduate School Handbook" for more information.

Overview

Regarding the issuance of certificates, certificates can be issued either from the certificate-issuing machines on campus or at convenience stores.
To obtain certificates, please apply in advance for the Certificate Issuance Service and obtain a reservation number. For application instructions, please refer to the next section.

How to Apply

You can log in using your UTID-13 and password for the Unified Authentication System.

Certificate-Issuing Machines on Campus

How to Use the Certificate-Issuing Machines

When you apply through the Certificate Issuance Service, an issuance number will be generated. Please enter that number into the certificate-issuing machines.

<Flow from Login to Certificate Issuance at the Certificate-Issuing Machines>

  1. Log in to the Certificate Issuance Service
  2. Select "On-Campus Printing" from "Issue Certificate"
  3. From "Select Certificate to Apply For," choose the number of copies of the certificate to apply for from the dropdown menu, then click the 'Next' button (When selecting "Student Discount Certificate," choose the reason for issuing the discount certificate)
  4. Review the details on the "Confirm Application Details" screen and click the "Apply" button
  5. Application complete. Enter the on-campus print number at the Certificate-Issuing Machines to print the certificate

*1After undergoing a health checkup and having your data registered, it will be possible to issue it.

*2Only students who have been granted an expected graduation/completion status in their final year are eligible for issuance, which is typically available starting in May each year. Please confirm with the Academic Service Office whether you have been granted graduation/completion status.

*3This applies only to students expected to receive an intermediate degree.

* If your name is not registered in English, we cannot issue certificates in English. Please consult the Academic Service Office regarding the registration of your name in English.

The system may be unavailable due to system maintenance, university-wide power outages, or malfunctions.

Printing Out at a Convenience Store

This service allows eligible current and former students to apply online for the issuance of certificates and receive their requested documents at nationwide-chain convenience stores using multifunction printers.
This service began its trial operation in late January 2026.
During the trial period, there is no charge for using the convenience store issuance service (※A separate fee of 60 yen per copy applies for using the multi-function copier).
During the trial period, eligible individuals for issuance are regular students enrolled at this university (undergraduate and graduate students).


Certificates That Can Be Issued (During the Trial Operation Period)

  • Certificate of Enrollment (in Japanese/English)
  • Transcript (in Japanese/English)

Fees

During the trial period, there is no charge for using the convenience store issuance service.
A separate fee of 60 yen per copy applies for using the multifunction copier.
The implementation period for the trial operation will be announced at a later date.


Usage Guide (to Be Read Before First Use)

Available Stores
  • 7-Eleven, FamilyMart, and Lawson stores in Japan with a multifunction printer

    * Please note that some stores may not have multifunction printers available.

  • 24 hours a day, 365 days a year

    * This service is not available at overseas stores.

    * Except when the service is in maintenance (including in connection with related commercial services), and when it is suspended by the University.

* The fees paid will not be refunded for any reason.

Printing Deadline
  • Each requested certificate must be printed out within seven days of application.

    * it will become unavailable on the eighth day with no refund.

    If a sealed envelope is required, please visit the Academic Service Office.
  • About the Second Password
    To enhance security for this service, you will be required to set a second password in addition to your primary password.
    If you forget your password, you can reset it yourself.

Submission to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (or Any of Its Overseas Establishments)

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs does not accept certificates issued at a convenience store, in school, and by PDF. To obtain a certificate that can be accepted by the ministry, please request one in person or by post.

Notes for Certificate Recipients (Persons in Charge at Companies, Education/Research Institutions, or Other Organizations)

Certificates issued at convenience stores are protected against forgery by POPITA technology. Recipients can verify the authenticity of those documents using the POPITA web app.
