President Nagata and Vice President Benton attend the 40th AEARU Board of Directors' Meeting

President Kyosuke Nagata and Vice President Caroline Benton attended the 40th Meeting of the Board of Directors (BOD) of the Association of East Asian Research Universities (AEARU) on April 15, 2017 at Tokyo Institute of Technology. AEARU members include prominent research universities in Japan, China, South Korea, Taiwan and Hong Kong.

After the BOD meeting, a brief lecture by Honorary Professor Yoshinori Ohsumi, 2016 Nobel Laureate in Physiology/Medicine, was held at the Cell Biology Unit. A tour of the Materials Research Center of Element Strategy (MCES) headed by Prof. Hideo Hosono was also conducted.

President Nagata announced that the next BOD and 23rd annual meetings will be held on September 24-25 during Tsukuba Global Science Week (TGSW) in Tsukuba City.
