The 41st Spring Sports Day

The 41st Spring Sports Day was held on May 13 (Sat) and 14 (Sun) at the University of Tsukuba. The Sports Day is a semi-annual two-day sporting event for students and staff of the university. It is planned and organized by members of the Sports Day Student Committee. Some 10,000 participants enjoy the sporting event every year.

While outdoor games including softball, handball, and tennis were called off due to rain on the first day, they were held on the second day after the rain stopped. Other games, including basketball, soft volleyball, dodgeball, and orienteering, were held as scheduled. In addition, wheelchair portball and mini-games also took place just as last year.

At the end, a balloon-releasing ceremony took place. Thanks to the efforts of the Sports Day Student Committee members, the 41st Spring Sports Day was a great success.
