Mebuki GAP Foundation Gave a Donation to the University of Tsukuba

Three universities received donations

The University of Tsukuba and the Ashikaga Bank, Ltd. of Mebuki Financial Group (FG), Inc. concluded a cooperative agreement on November 7, aiming to contribute to regional and industrial development.


It was realized at the request of Mebuki FG Inc., which is the financial holding company over subsidiaries including the Joyo Bank, Ltd. and the Ashikaga Bank, Ltd. The University of Tsukuba has already concluded a cooperative agreement with the Joyo Bank, Ltd. since 2005.


Just as with the Joyo Bank, Ltd., the university will cooperate with the Ashikaga Bank, Ltd. in the following fields: (1) Information exchange and support regarding new technology, new projects, and university venture; (2) Information exchange with local companies and implementation of internship programs; and (3) Implementation of lectures and seminars.


In addition to the agreement between the University of Tsukuba and the Ashikaga Bank, Ltd., Utsunomiya University concluded a cooperative agreement with the Joyo Bank, Ltd., on the day.


In attendance were the following dignitaries: Vice President for Collaborative Research Yasunori Kanaho of the University of Tsukuba, Vice President Hisaki Ozaki of Ibaraki University, Vice President Tsukasa Ikeda of Utsunomiya University, President Kazuyoshi Terakado of the Joyo Bank, Ltd. (President of Mebuki FG Inc.), and President Masanao Matsushita of the Ashikaga Bank, Ltd. (Executive Vice President of Mebuki FG Inc.).


"Mebuki GAP Foundation", which has been established by the Joyo Bank, Ltd. and the Ashikaga Bank, Ltd. of Mebuki FG Inc., gave a donation to three universities including the University of Tsukuba, Ibaraki University, and Utsunomiya University, aiming to support their venture business. The donation presentation ceremony was held on the day.


After the ceremony, the attendees exchanged views about their future cooperation.
