The 41st Autumn Sports Day

The 41st Autumn Sports Day was held on November 18 (Sat) and 19 (Sun) at the University of Tsukuba. The Sports Day is a semi-annual two-day sporting event for students and staff of the university. It is planned and organized by members of the Sports Day Student Committee. Every year, more than 10,000 participants enjoy two days of sports activities.

Unfortunately, field games including kickbaseball, football, and soft tennis were called off for the second day due to bad weather. Indoor games including volleyball and badminton took place as scheduled for two days.

Blessed with fine weather, Ekiden marathon took place on the second day. In addition, participants enjoyed adaptive sports (wheelchair portball) and mini-games. Workshops and training sessions open to public were also held in cooperation with university clubs.

Thanks to the efforts of the Sports Day Student Committee members, the 41st Spring Sports Day was a great success.
