Student Exchange Project between the University of Tsukuba and National Taiwan University

A student exchange project was implemented between the University of Tsukuba and National Taiwan University from December 8 to 10.

The University of Tsukuba has promoted the Campus-in-Campus (CiC) initiative as part of the Top Global University Project of the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology (MEXT). Through the student exchange project, the university aimed to promote exchange with National Taiwan University, which is one of the CiC partner universities, and to increase students' interest in studying at the National Taiwan University. Students of the University of Tsukuba visited National Taiwan University on this occasion.

Students joining the project were supposed to have a discussion in groups and make a presentation in English at National Taiwan University. To prepare for the day, the students had been divided into groups. The group members had online discussion and communication beforehand to attend the meeting well prepared.

Eighteen students of the University of Tsukuba and twenty students of National Taiwan University attended the project, some of whom had been involved in the student exchange project that was held in May, 2017.

After the discussion and presentation session, icebreaking games were held including campus orienteering, a Role Play game (improvisational game to play a role chosen by lottery), and a Make your own 2018 Calendar event. The project was concluded with a welcome party given by National Taiwan University. In addition, students of National Taiwan University gave a guided tour of Taipei City for the students of University of Tsukuba. The project was a great opportunity to develop relations between the two universities.

The University of Tsukuba intends to further promote Campus-in-Campus (CiC) initiatives, where students, faculty and staff, and researchers in the CiC partner universities can deepen exchanges.
