Ms. Yonehara and Ms. Morisaki Claim Victory in Women's Doubles at the 92nd All Japan Tennis Championships



The 92nd All Japan Tennis Championships was held from October 19 to 29 at Ariake Colosseum and Ariake Tennis no Mori Park. Two students in the University of Tsukuba Tennis Team claimed victory in the women's doubles tournament. One is a fourth-year student, Ms. Minori Yonehara, and the other is a third-year student, Ms. Kanako Morisaki. Both students are in the School of Health and Physical Education.


Ms. Morisaki also won the vice-championship in the mixed doubles with Mr. Yuki Mochizuki of Chuo University at the 92nd All Japan Tennis Championships.


Ms. Yonehara and Ms. Morisaki made a courtesy visit to President Kyosuke Nagata and Vice President for Student Affairs Shin-ichi Tamagawa on December 25 to report the result of the tournament, accompanied by Provost Hisashi Sanada of the School of Health and Physical Education and Associate Professor Daisuke Mitsuhashi of the Faculty of Health and Sport Sciences (tennis club coach).


All attendees at the courtesy visit reminisced about the tournament. When asked for their next goals, they said they were aiming for the world championship. At the end of the meeting, President Nagata praised them for their performance and offered them encouraging words.
