Badminton Team Ms. Kashihara, Ms. Kato, and Ms. Ushiki Made a Courtesy Visit to President Nagata



The 68th All Japan Intercollegiate Badminton Championships was held at DIADORA arena, Ichinomiya-shi Sogo Taiikukan, in Aichi Prefecture from October 20 to 26. The University of Tsukuba Badminton Team won the fourth championship in a row in the women's team competition.


In addition, Ms. Miki Kashihara and Ms. Miyuki Kato (fourth-year students in the School of Health and Physical Education) claimed victory in women's doubles at the tournament.
They also competed in the 2017 Summer Universiade held in August in Taipei, won a silver medal in mixed team event and a bronze medal in women's doubles.


Ms. Kashihara, Ms. Kato, and Ms. Ayuko Ushiki (third-year in the School of Health and Physical Education) made a courtesy visit to President Kyosuke Nagata and Vice President for Student Affairs Shin-ichi Tamagawa on December 26 to report the result of the tournament. They were accompanied to the courtesy visit by Professor Kenji Saito (badminton team manager) and Assistant Professor Masashi Suita (badminton team supervisor) of the Faculty of Health and Sport Sciences.


All attendees reminisced about the 68th All Japan Intercollegiate Badminton Championships with the board members. At the end of the meeting, President Nagata and Vice President Tamagawa praised them for their performance and offered them encouraging words.
