Holding of an Overseas Crisis Management Seminar before the spring recess

The overseas crisis management seminar was held before the spring recess for students, faculty members and employees of our university in the Tsukuba Campus in February 8, 2018.

At the opening of the seminar, Director General Benton of the Global Commons made an opening address including an introduction of initiatives on student dispatch of our university and initiatives on overseas crisis management in our university and delivered a message toward students who will travel overseas.

Mr. Hiroaki Emi of the Emergency Assistance Japan Co., Ltd. which operates the Overseas Student Security Management Assistance (OSSMA) talked on "points to be checked before travel and thinking of safety management during overseas travel" in this seminar. The Global Commons have instructions on the "7 things to be checked when students travel overseas" including on-campus procedures, etc. before travel.

A lot of students attended the event including students who will travel overseas for the first time. Students who took part said, "I have to be on my toes after hearing about crisis management before overseas travel" and "I heard a new piece of information and it's very helpful".

The Global Commons is scheduled to hold this seminar regularly to further increase awareness about overseas crisis management of students, faculty members, employees in our university.
