Cultural Exchange Workshop for Visiting Foreign Research Fellows

The Third Cultural Exchange Workshop was held at Daiwa Lease Community Station (Community Station) in Global Village on Tsukuba Campus on January 26, 2018. The workshop was targeted at Visiting Foreign Research Fellows at the University of Tsukuba and their family members.

The workshop aimed at introducing Japanese culture to the foreign researchers and promoting exchanges among them. It was organized by the University of Tsukuba Global Commons, in cooperation with the Rainbow Club (Nijinokai), which is a volunteer group offering support for overseas visitors and residents of Tsukuba Science City.

The workshop was filled to capacity, and a total of 15 people enjoyed arranging flowers. They had an opportunity to receive guidance from Sogetsu Flower Arrangement Teacher Ms. Hoshun Ono, who is a member of the Rainbow Club, on a one-to-one basis.

Children and family members of the foreign researchers also attended the workshop. After making floral arrangements, they enjoyed taking photos of the flowers with their families.

The Global Commons intends to continue providing opportunities to promote exchanges among foreigners at the University of Tsukuba. If you have any opinions or requests for the Cultural Exchange Workshop, please contact the following email address.
