Vice President Caroline F. Benton of the University of Tsukuba was invited as one of the speakers at the Times Higher Education's (THE) Young Universities Summit which feature educational institutions under the age of 50.

Caroline F. Benton, Vice President and Executive Director for Global Affairs of the University of Tsukuba, was invited as one of the speakers to the Times Higher Education's (THE) Young Universities Summit, held from June 5-7, 2018 at the University of South Florida (USF) in Tampa, Florida.

Featuring educational institutions under the age of 50, the THE Young Universities Summit brought together senior university, government and industry leaders to explore how newer universities can use their relative youth to the greatest advantage as world-class universities.

Vice President Benton was invited as speaker in the session on "New models of partnerships for new models of institution" which explored how young universities may offer a partnership proposition or form collaborations that both strengthen their own missions and create stronger alliances with a shared mission by sharing the University of Tsukuba's Campus-in-Campus (CiC) initiative as well as industry-university collaborations.

By participating in this event, the university would like to increase its presence on the world stage.
