The 5th International Management Annual Meeting held at the National Taiwan University

The 5th International Management Annual Meeting was held at the National Taiwan University on December 16. The representatives from the universities concluding a comprehensive agreement under the Campus-in-Campus(CiC) vision which is the main part of the Top Global University Japan Program met together and actively discussed best practices, future perspectives, and specific issues.


It had been held during the Tsukuba Global Science Week in Japan until last year. This year it was held in Taiwan in conformity with the National Taiwan University (NTU) 90th Anniversary Celebration Ceremony as the first meeting held at an overseas partner university. It was a rewarding meeting, which deepened multiple partnerships with the Campus-in-Campus (CiC) partnership universities as members of a university league across the world.


In attendance at the meeting from our university were President Kyosuke Nagata, Vice President Benton Caroline (Global Affairs), Vice President Hideo Kigoshi (Research), Vice President Yasunori Kanaho (Collaborative Research), Head Jun Ikeda of the Office of Advisors to the President, Director Osamu Ohneda of the Office of Global Initiatives, and Specially Appointed Professor Teruo Higashi of the Office of Global Initiatives, and from the CiC partnership universities were Acting President Tei-Wei Kuo of the National Taiwan University, Vice-Chairs Lise Dumasy of the Communaute Universite Grenoble Alpes in France, Vice President Laurent Servant of the University of Bordeaux in France, Vice President Sandrine Rui of the University of Bordeaux in France, Dean Ali Bin Selamat of the Malaysia-Japan International Institute of Technology (MJIIT), Chief Global Affairs Officer Victoria Jones of the University of California, Irvine (UCI), and Interim Executive Director Donald Hempson of the Global Gateways of The Ohio State University.


Following the meeting, a signing ceremony of the agreement on the faculty exchange program in matching funds was conducted, in that afternoon the CiC workshop 2018 chaired by Vice President Hideo Kigoshi was held. In the workshop under the theme of international joint research, a presentation on examples of the initiatives of the 3 units (UCI, Communaute Universite Grenoble Alpes, and Utrecht University) was given by the Co-Investigator of each university out of the International Education and Research Laboratory Program (IERLP) initiated by our university. In addition, Associate Professor Ryosuke Ohniwa of the Taiwan Office of the University of Tsukuba reported a case study of the CiC Laboratory Project.
