The 44th University of Tsukuba Soho-sai Festival



The 44th University of Tsukuba Soho-sai Festival was held from November 2 to 4, under the fine autumn sky.


The TSUKUBA COLLECTION 2018, a beauty pageant in the campus was held on the eve of the first day, in addition to bringing a lot of excitement to the venue with the unique performance of the contestants, the Taruzake-furumai booth, an event hosted by the University Festival Student Committee, was thronged with visitors who enjoyed the local sake of Ibaraki.


About 350 events took place at the festival, including student presentations on club/circle activities and research achievements. A special exhibition booth collaborated with Tsukuba City also took place at the festival, including a poster that introduced the charm of Tsukuba City from the view point of students and a Sugoroku game which was based on the Tsukuba City Hazard Map, an idea of the students. The booth was a great success crowded with many visitors of all generations.


Fireworks, which had been designed and produced based on the pictures drawn by hospitalized kids in the University of Tsukuba Hospital, were set off in the night for the finale of the three-day festival.
