President NAGATA attends a Board of Trustees Meeting for E-JUST in Alexandria, Egypt

President Kyosuke NAGATA attended the 19th Board of Trustees Meeting for Egypt-Japan University of Science and Technology (E-JUST) which was held on July 2, 2019, in Alexandria, Egypt. Since December 2017 the University of Tsukuba has served as a managing member for the Faculty of International Business and Humanities and President NAGATA has been a board member. This time is his first attendance at the board meeting held at E-JUST.


Speaking at the meeting, President NAGATA said that it's important to establish a management strategy and future plan clearly for providing high-quality education to a wide range of students under the responsible support by both Japan and Egypt, and that it's desirable for the Heritage Science program of the School of Human Sciences commencing in September 2019, which is a good model case of multidisciplinary collaborative education, to expand university-wide as the strength of E-JUST.


On June 30, just prior to the meeting, he had a talk with Mr. Masaki NOKE, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Japan to the Arab Republic of Egypt and President Motia Fakhr El Din El Zohwi of the Egyptian Judo, Aikido, and Sumo Federation, and next day attended the degree conferring ceremony at E-JUST, new campus preview and the opening ceremony for a multipurpose building which includes an indoor pool and an athletic facility.
