Holding of a Practical English Language Training for University Employees

The University of Tsukuba's Global Commons organized special beginner and intermediate English language classes in wintertime targeting university employees as part of English language training for University of Tsukuba employees, on February 19 and 20.


Assistant Professor Elena Tsygalnitsky of the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences of the University of Tsukuba was invited to give a lecture for beginners to learn practical phrases and words at the information desk for international students and a lecture for intermediate learners to learn English expressions at work and how to answer the phone.


Two days training was in a friendly atmosphere. Some of the feedback received after the event were: "The lecturer was very friendly and kind, so I'm happy to learn well"; "I could learn some technical terms"; "I had a great opportunity to learn many useful expressions on campus."


The Global Commons intends to continue its efforts to promote the internationalization of university staff through organizing various English language training and Staff Development (SD) Workshop that improve English proficiency and develop international perspectives and skills.
