Notice in regard to the handling of our university contingent to the lifting of the declaration of a state of emergency

The government has indicated the criteria for lifting the declaration of the state of emergency on May 14, 2020 and Ibaraki Prefecture has been removed from "target regions of the declaration of the state of emergency". However, even if removed from target regions of the declaration, it will be designated again in the event of showing signs of a second wave of COVID-19.

As such, our university is continuing the present setup provided by the "Request in regard to the handling of our university contingent to the expansion nationwide of target regions of the declaration of a state of emergency" issued on April 17, 2020.

For the meantime, we are situated in a preparation period to update our current mode of operation as circumstances dictate. Furthermore, we will inform you immediately when changing the mode of operation.

For students, faculty members, and employees, please continue adequate preventive measures against infection spread including refraining voluntarily from non-essential outings and avoiding the "Three Cs" of closed spaces, crowded places, and close-contact settings to prevent infection.
