Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Bosnia and Herzegovina to Japan visits President NAGATA

A delegation led by His Excellency Sinisa BERJAN, PhD, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Bosnia and Herzegovina to Japan made a courtesy visit to President NAGATA Kyosuke, Vice President for Global Affairs BENTON Caroline F., Executive Officer OHNEDA Osamu, Director of the Office of Global Initiatives of the Bureau of Global Initiatives, Professor SAKURAI Takeaki of the Faculty of Pure and Applied Sciences and Specially Appointed Professor KIJIMA Joji of the Office of Global Initiatives on June 18.


In the visit, Vice President BENTON introduced the University of Tsukuba online, and the attendees exchanged opinions on the possibilities of further student exchange and academic research exchange between Bosnia and Herzegovina and Japan.


After the meeting with President NAGATA and Vice President BENTON, the delegation visited the Smart and Sustainable Agriculture Research Division of the Tsukuba Plant Innovation Research Center (T-PIRC Farm) where Professor FUKUDA Naoya of the Faculty of Life and Environmental Sciences explained the genome-edited high-GABA tomato and rice cropping. Subsequently, they toured the laboratory of Professor SAKURAI and made exchanges with the international students of the laboratory. Further promotion of the exchange with Bosnia and Herzegovina is expected.
