Delegation of the Minister of the Republic of South Africa to Japan pays a courtesy visit to Vice President Benton

On January 13, 2022, Mr. Ghaleeb Jeppie, Minister-Counsellor (Science & Technology) of the Embassy of the Republic of South Africa in Japan, and his delegation paid a courtesy visit to Vice President for Global Affairs BENTON Caroline F., Executive Officer OHNEDA Osamu (Director of the Office of Global Initiatives), Professor MORIO Takahiro of the Office of Global Initiatives, and Deputy Director for Global Affairs KUWAHARA Tatsuya.


During this courtesy visit, they exchanged information on the University's cooperation with Africa, the history of the University and Tsukuba Science City, and the possibility of future research exchange.


After the courtesy call, the delegation met with Professor MORIO of the Office of Global Initiatives and exchanged views on a joint academic seminar as an opportunity for matching joint research and academic collaboration related to the Eighth Tokyo International Conference on African Development (TICAD 8) scheduled to be held in Tunis this year.


We are expected to promote exchange with South Africa in the future.
