Prof. Dato' Seri Ir. Dr. Zaini Ujang, Secretary General, Ministry of Environment and Water of Malaysia visits President NAGATA

On May 9, Prof. Dato' Seri Ir. Dr. Zaini Ujang, Secretary General of the Ministry of Environment and Water, Malaysia, met with President NAGATA Kyosuke, Vice President for Global Affairs BENTON Caroline F., Executive Officer OHNEDA Osamu (Director, Office of Global Initiatives), Executive Officer TSUJIMURA Maki (Director, Malaysia Branch Campus Preparation Office), Professor SUZUKI Iwane of the Faculty of Life and Environmental Sciences (Director, Kuala Lumpur Office), Professor Emeritus SUGIURA Norio (Advisor, Kuala Lumpur Office), and Associate Professor KAIDA Naoko of the Faculty of Engineering, Information and Systems, at the Tokyo Campus of the University of Tsukuba.


President NAGATA expressed his congratulations and gratitude to Dato' Seri Ir. Dr. Zaini Ujang for receiving the Order of the Rising Sun, Gold and Silver Star (Spring 2022) in recognition of his contribution to strengthening relations between Japan and Malaysia in the fields of energy, environment, water, and education. Dato' Seri Ir. Dr. Zaini, former visiting professor of our University, emphasized that the University of Tsukuba is an important partner for Malaysia, and expressed his hope for the further strengthening of cooperation between the University and Malaysia. We look forward to deeper collaboration with Malaysia in the future.
