Holding of the 46th University of Tsukuba Autumn Sports Day

The 46th Autumn Sports Day was held for 2 days on November 19 and 20 at the Tsukuba Campus.

Since the first Sports Day was held in 1977, soon after the University of Tsukuba was established, it has been held twice a year for two days each in spring and autumn, and more than 10,000 students, faculty members and staff enjoy playing sports together.

Following this spring's Sports Day, many students from the Sports Day Student Committee worked on the planning, preparation, and operation of the event while paying maximum attention to infection control measures.

The first day was under clear autumn skies, while the second day was under cloudy skies, but there were heated competitions in soft tennis, softball, soccer, handball, and relays outdoors, and in volleyball, e-sports, and badminton indoors. In addition, student committee programs include strikeout, speedball, accuracy, survival game, chasing ball throw, free throw, kick target, sports karuta, and kehaigiri. The participants were smiling and enjoying sports with their friends.

Although the event had to be held under various restrictions to prevent COVID-19, it was successfully completed thanks to the cooperation of all participants and the smooth operation of the Sports Day Student Committee.
