Venturing Out to Tokyo to Enjoy Great Classical Music

It was a snowy day, but 25 students from overseas ventured out to NHK Hall, Shibuya, Tokyo. They were invited by the NHK Symphony Orchestra to a regular concert held on February 10.

The program consisted of a piece by the great American composer and conductor of the 20th century, Lenard Bernstein's "West Side Story" and by the Russian composer who later immigrated to the USA, Sergei Rakhmaninov's "Symphonic Dances." Students from Indonesia, Malaysia, China, the USA, and other countries enjoyed classical music. Seven Ukrainian students also joined in the concert, courtesy of the orchestra as a part of social contribution activities.
