Opening Ceremony for Intensive Japanese Course for Monbukagakusho Scholarship Students in April 2023

The opening ceremony for the Intensive Japanese Course for the Japanese Government (Monbukagakusho) Scholarship Students who entered the University of Tsukuba in April of 2023 was held at the University of Tsukuba Center for Education of Global Communication (CEGLOC) on April 13. Students who take the course and CEGLOC staff participated in the ceremony.

The ceremony started with an opening speech by Professor ONO Masaki of the Institute of Humanities and Social Sciences (Director of CEGLOC).

A total of 8 international students will take the four-month Japanese language course at CEGLOC. By participating in various events on and off campus, the students are expected to become familiar with the Japanese language and culture, easing their transition to Japanese life and academia.

The students of the Intensive Japanese Course who entered the university in April 2023 are from the following nations: Iran, India, Indonesia, Cambodia, Kenya, Tunisia (Two students), and Mauritania (A total of eight students).
