Tsukuba Conference 2023

"Tsukuba Conference 2023" is being held at the Tsukuba International Congress Center, and on the second day, September 27, a high-profile special plenary session, "Dialogue with Nobel Laureates," was held.
Two Nobel Laureates, along with panelists, candidly gave answers to questions from young researchers and the audience.

Here are some of the great Nobel laureates who attended.
Prof. Klaus von Klitzing (from Germany) was awarded the Nobel Prize in Physics in 1985 for his experimental discovery of the integer quantum. Prof. Ada Yonath (from Israel) was the joint winner of the Nobel Prize in Chemistry in 2009 for her work on the structure of the ribosome. She is currently at the Weizmann Institute of Science.

The young researchers mentioned the importance of communication between society and science, diversity and inclusion, and the responsibility of those living in the 21st century to do what they can for a sustainable society.

In response, the award winners stated, "It is important for researchers to engage in research that is useful to society by utilizing the resources they possess, such as accumulated knowledge and networks among researchers. But first of all, we should have the passion to pursue our own interests," they encouraged.
