Joint Symposium Held on Digital Health and Medicine 2023

On September 29, 2023, the Joint Symposium on "Digital Health and Medicine 2023," co-hosted with National Taiwan University, was held at the University of Tsukuba. This symposium aimed to discuss the latest research in medical and nursing care utilizing artificial intelligence and robotics from both universities, bringing together researchers from academia and industry interested in this field. Vice President for Global Affairs IKEDA Jun of the University of Tsukuba and Vice President for International Affairs Hsiao-Wei YUAN of National Taiwan University gave the opening remarks. The symposium featured 12 oral presentations as well as 19 poster presentations, leading to lively discussions, of which approximately 140 people participated in the event, both online and offline.

National Taiwan University officially joined the Tsukuba Digital-Bio International Center, a venture strongly supported by the University of Tsukuba. This initiative, centered in the Tsukuba area, is dedicated to fostering cooperative relationships between industry, academia, government, and the private sector. By exploring joint research themes and facilitating the development of talent in these cutting-edge fields, both universities are set to drive innovation and shape the future of healthcare.

This symposium represents a significant stride towards a brighter, tech-driven future for healthcare, underpinned by the collaboration of two institutions committed to pushing the boundaries of medical and nursing care.
