Evening of Symphonic Poems and Ballet Suites -NHK Symphony Orchestra Invites International Students-

NHK Symphony Orchestra Invites International Students

On January 19, international students studying at the University of Tsukuba gathered at the NHK Hall in Shibuya, Tokyo. As part of its social contribution activities, the NHK Symphony Orchestra invites international students from abroad free of charge, and last year, the orchestra invited international students from the University of Tsukuba as well.

Two pieces were performed at this concert: "Liadov / Kikimora, légende Op. 63" and "Prokofiev / Sokhiev / Romeo and Juliet, ballet suite".

Comments from participating students

This was the first time for me to participate in a symphony concert, and I am grateful to the University of Tsukuba for giving me such an opportunity. It was my first experience to see the passionate performance of the musicians up close, and with the program, I could truly feel the imagery that the music brought. It was a wonderful experience.
I have not seen such expressiveness and skill in the performance of ballet music in a long time. I would like to thank University of Tsukuba from the bottom of my heart for giving me such a unique opportunity!

We would like to thank everyone involved in the orchestra for providing us with this opportunity.
