Agreement for Academic Exchange and Cooperation Signed with Ghana's University of Cape Coast
On January 14, President NAGATA Kyosuke of University of Tsukuba (UT) visited the University of Cape Coast in Ghana (UCC) and signed an Agreement for Academic Exchange and Cooperation with Vice Chancellor Denis Worlanyo Aheto of UCC, formalizing academic collaboration between the two institutions.
The ceremony was attended by UCC's Gideon Enoch Abbeyquaye, Registrar, and Samuel Bert Boadi-Kusi, Dean of Office of International Relations, as well as UT's Vice President for Global Affairs OHNEDA Osamu.
During the ceremony, UCC highlighted the long-standing achievements of its broad cooperation with Japan, including outcomes of long-term support initiatives led by Japan. In response, UT emphasized the growing strategic importance of Japan-Africa relations and the expansion of bilateral academic exchange through programs supported by Japan's MEXT Inter-University Exchange Project.
President NAGATA and Vice Chancellor Aheto expressed their shared commitment to advancing research and educational collaboration, with the aim of generating sustainable and tangible outcomes.
The University of Tsukuba will continue to deepen its partnership with the University of Cape Coast and strengthen academic collaboration with Ghana.
