Ambassador of Japan to Malaysia Meets with President NAGATA

On March 13, Mr. SHIKATA Noriyuki, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Japan to Malaysia, visited University of Tsukuba together with Mr. HIRASHIMA Shusaku, Senior Deputy Director of the Second Southeast Asia Division at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. They met with President NAGATA Kyosuke and Vice President for Global Affairs OHNEDA Osamu.

During the meeting, the university provided an overview of the current status and future developments of the University of Tsukuba, Malaysia (UTMy). The parties also exchanged views on cooperation in higher education in Malaysia, as well as collaboration in industry-academia partnerships.

The visit is expected to further strengthen cooperation between Malaysia and the University of Tsukuba.
