Courtesy Visit by Delegation from the International Institute for Central Asia
On July 6, University of Tsukuba welcomed a four-member delegation from the International Institute for Central Asia (IICA)of Uzbekistan. The delegation comprised Javlon Vakhabov, Director of IICA; Kadambay Sultanov, Head of a Unit in the Presidential Administration of the Republic of Uzbekistan; Bakhtiyorjon Salomov, Leading Research Fellow at IICA; and Nozima Mansurova, Senior Research Fellow at IICA.
They met with President NAGATA Kyosuke; Vice President for Global Affairs OHNEDA Osamu; Vice President for Education TAKENAKA Yoshihiko; Prof. USUYAMA Toshinobu, Regional Director for Central Asia; Prof. Timur Dadabaev of the Institute of Humanities and Social Sciences; and IWAMI Sanae, Head, Office of Global Initiatives. During the meeting, the participants exchanged views on strengthening relations between Central Asia and Japan through educational and research exchange, human resource development, and collaboration among think tanks.
The visit is expected to further deepen academic collaboration and student exchange between University of Tsukuba and educational and research institutions in Uzbekistan.
