TUAN in Malaysia 2026 Was Held

On August 31, TUAN in Malaysia 2026 was held at St. Giles Boulevard Hotel Kuala Lumpur, with the attendance of President NAGATA Kyosuke, Executive Director and Provost KATO Mitsuyasu, Vice President and Executive Director for Education TAKENAKA Yoshihiko, Vice President for Student Affairs CHIBA Chikafumi, Executive Officer for University Management KANAHO Yasunori, and Executive Officer for Business and Stakeholder Relations Initiatives KATSUMOTO Kenji, among others.

TUAN (Tsukuba Universal Alumni Network) is an alumni association network established in October 2023 that connects the University of Tsukuba with overseas alumni organizations and alumni (including Japanese).

The event began with opening remarks by Executive Director and Provost KATO, marking the second TUAN alumni gathering in Malaysia.

Following this, President NAGATA provided an overview of TUAN's activities to date and emphasized that TUAN is a community that brings together not only alumni but also current students. He encouraged alumni to actively engage with current students, enjoy meaningful conversations with them, and deepen their connections with one another.

Students from University of Tsukuba, Malaysia also joined the reunion, where they introduced themselves and shared their aspirations for the future. Alumni listened with warm smiles to the students' fresh and inspiring presentations, creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere throughout the event. The gathering provided a valuable opportunity for alumni and current students from different generations to connect and interact with one another, highlighting the growing and ever-expanding network of TUAN.

It concluded with closing remarks by Vice President CHIBA, bringing the two-hour TUAN in Malaysia gathering to a successful close.

TUAN alumni gatherings are planned to be held in various countries around the world in the future.
