Imagine the gymnasium of the future, FUTUREGYM™—the world's first gymnasium with large-floor projection mapping system—

The gymnasium at the Special Needs Education School for the Mentally Challenged at Otsuka, University of Tsukuba, was recently renovated to incorporate a special floor surface and equipment that utilizes projection mapping and is compatible with cameras and wearable devices that can measure the movements or behavior of children, along with their collective behavior. This gym was opened as a FUTUREGYM™ (Class 41 trademark). In the future, while watching over the social behavior of children with developmental impairments, the gym will be used for interdisciplinary research at the cutting edge of information and computer science, developmental psychology, and medicine aimed at fostering sociability and self-expression through creative activities.
