Habatake! Scholarship Application Policy for April 2020
We have been postponing acceptance of April 2020 applications due to the worldwide COVID-19 pandemic. As the pandemic situation has not yet enough improved as of the end of January 2021, we have decided to cancel application acceptance for April 2020 considering the political and economic situations, restrictions on social activities and unfulfilled conditions of safety and security for study abroad.
The conditions for accepting applications for Habatake Scholarships in the worldwide pandemic of COVID-19 situations are:
- (1)Travel Warning and Infectious Disease Warning for the destination issued by Ministry of Foreign Affairs must be categorized as Level 1 or none. This is based on 1-(2) (Level 2: Avoid unessential travel; Avoid all dispatches and travels of students) of Travel Guidelines for Students, Faculty Members and University Employees in Case of a Crisis Overseas.
- (2)The destination country must be issuing student visas and the partner university must be granting international students admissions.
- (3)The safety and the life environment must be well maintained.
- -The study environment must be well maintained with special measures such as limitations of face-to-face classes and online classes.
- -You must always pay attention to changes of social lives influenced by the pandemic such as restrictions of activities and travels.
- -The policy of 14-day quarantine after entering the destination country and returning to Japan has been abolished as for short-term programs.
Habatake! Scholarship Application Policy for December 2020
The University of Tsukuba provides study abroad support programs for development of global leaders aimed at resolving global issues, as an initiative of the Top Global University Project.
IMPORTANT
The conditions for travelling abroad are:
- - The destination is at Level 1 or none of Travel Warning and Infectious Disease Warning by Ministry of Foreign Affairs (*1).
- *1 The university does not admit students' travels to countries at Level 2(*2). Refer to Travel Guidelines for Students, Faculty Members and University Employees in Case of a Crisis Overseas by University of Tsukuba President.
- *2 Level 2: Avoid unessential travels
- -The destination country issues student visas and the partner university grants international students admissions.
- -Students' safety and security are prioritized in the program at the partner university.
- Note that Habatake! Scholarship will not be granted for online course attendance or training participation of overseas universities.

Purpose
Study abroad based on the exchange agreement

Up to 1 year from the departure from Japan between April 2021-March 2022

2. Campus in Campus (CiC) Support Program
Purpose
Travel to a universities implementing the Campus in Campus, Double Degree Program or Joint Degree Program
Period
Up to 1 year from the departure from Japan between April 2021-March 2022
(CiC Short-Term Program : Up to 1 month)
Travel expenses
Monthly allowance up to ¥80,000 (CiC Short-Term Program : Up to ¥150,000)

3. Overseas Study Tour Support Program (MUSHA-SHUGYO)
Purpose
Conduct the activities of the exchange and training abroad in group
(Not recruiting this time)
4. Overseas Academic Conference Participation Support Program
Purpose
Study presented at academic conferences, symposia, research workshops overseas
Period
April 2021-July 2021(Up to 2 weeks)
Travel expenses
Up to ¥150,000

5. Overseas Language Training and Academic Activity Support Program
Purpose
Participate in an Overseas Training Program organized or jointly held by the University of Tsukuba
※Please note that students who would like to apply for the support should apply to the organizer or the co-organizer of the project of University of Tsukuba. They will apply on behalf of the students.
Period
April 2021-March 2022 (Up to 1 week-1 month)

Up to ¥100,000
