Entrance Ceremony

Undergraduate Entrance Ceremony / Graduate School Entrance Ceremony for AY2021 (Last Updated March 29, 2021)

Undergraduate and Graduate School Entrance Ceremonies for AY2021 will be held as below.

Please take note that depending on the situation of the Coronavirus disease (COVID-19), changes may be made to how the ceremonies will be held.



1 Date: Monday, April 5, 2021

Undergraduate Entrance Ceremony

1st Session (9:30~9:55)
* Doors to the venue will open 40 minutes before the start of each ceremony.

- School of Humanities and Culture
- School of Social and International Studies
- School of Life and Environmental Sciences
- School of Science and Engineering
- School of Informatics
- Acupuncture and Physical Therapy Teacher Training School

2nd Session (11:30~11:55)
* Doors to the venue will open 40 minutes before the start of each ceremony.

- School of Human Sciences
- School of Medicine and Medical Sciences
- School of Physical Education, Health and Sport Sciences
- School of Art and Design
- School of Comprehensive Studies

Graduate School Entrance Ceremony

1st Session (13:30~13:55)
* Doors to the venue will open 40 minutes before the start of each ceremony.

- Graduate School of Business Sciences, Humanities and Social Sciences
- Graduate School of Comprehensive Human Sciences

2nd Session (15:30~15:55)
* Doors to the venue will open 40 minutes before the start of each ceremony.

- Graduate School of Science and Technology
- School of Integrative and Global Majors

2 Venue: University Hall (Auditorium, etc.), University of Tsukuba

3 Note:

  • - As part of the protective measures against COVID-19, only new students are invited to attend the ceremonies. Family members are welcomed to watch the ceremonies live online.
    * The ceremonies will be live-streamed for family members to watch. (There is no viewing room on campus.)
     Please note that we will be filming the event, including the audience, during the livestream.
  • - Those who cannot be accommodated at the main venue (Auditorium) due to limited seating capacity will be guided to another room (Hall, etc.) for watching the ceremony via live broadcast.
  • - Please be sure to wear a mask in the venue. Also, please follow the instructions by the staff and sit to leave one seat between you and the next person.
  • - For the last 14 days prior to the day of the ceremony, please keep a record of your own health observations and take care of your physical condition.

    If, on the day of the ceremony, you have a fever or respiratory symptoms, or otherwise feel unwell, please refrain from attending. Also, please install the COVID-19 Contact-Confirming application (COCOA).

- To reach the University of Tsukuba, please see "Access to Tsukuba Campus".
- The nearest bus stop is "Daigakukan-mae".
* About 15 minutes from Tsukuba Center Bus Terminal adjacent to TX Tsukuba Station by bus bound for "Tsukuba Daigaku Chuo" or the "University Loop-line On-campus Bus [Tsukuba Daigaku Junkan Bus]".

Only new students are invited to attend the ceremonies, so family members and current students are invited to watch the livestream on YouTube at home. (There is no viewing room on campus.)

Notice to Current Students (Last Updated March 26, 2021)

Due to the Undergraduate Entrance Ceremony / Graduate School Entrance Ceremony for AY2021 to be held on April 5, 2021, the area around the University Hall will be very crowded with new students, so we ask that current students refrain from stopping by the University Hall.
