Undergraduate and graduate students who face financial difficulties and who demonstrate excellent academic records may be exempt from part or all of the tuition payments.
The tuition exemption system, however, is not available for non-degree research students and credited auditors.

Affairs (Financial Support), which is located on the 3rd floor of the Student Plaza or your Academic Service Office (Registrar and Student Support).
Entrance Fee Exemption
Please note that different application requirements will be applied to students joining undergraduate courses and graduate courses.
Students who have difficulty paying the entrance fee or tuition fee by the due date due to the spread of the COVID-19 may defer the collection.
If you wish to do so, please contact Financial Support, Division of Student Welfare or your Support Office for Student Support.
However, if you have already paid, it will not be refunded.
The deadline for deferment of the entrance fee collection is October 28th , and the deadline for deferment of the second semester tuition collection is October 22nd.
Eligibility: Undergraduate Students
Those recognized as having difficulty in paying the entrance fee due to the death of the person primarily responsible for the payment within the past one year prior to admission, or due to damage sustained by the student or the person responsible for the payment of entrance fee caused by wind, flood or other natural disasters.
Those recognized by the university president as having reasons similar to the ones above, in line with the university rules.
Note: The above mentioned are eligibility requirements for applying for entrance fee exemption.
Students who have difficulty in paying entrance fee due to economic reasons prior to the deadline and are recognized as having outstanding academic capabilities are eligible for deferred payment of entrance fee.
Eligibility: Graduate Students

Those recognized as having difficulty in paying entrance fee due to economic reasons prior to the deadline and are recognized as having outstanding academic capabilities.

Those recognized as having difficulty in paying the entrance fee due to the death of the person primarily responsible for the payment within the past one year prior to admission, or due to damage sustained by the student or the person responsible for the payment of entrance fee caused by wind, flood or other natural disasters.

Application procedure: Students who are applying for entrance fee exemption or deferred payment are requested to submit application forms included in the document for enrollment guidance and other required documents at the time of the admission procedure.
Students who are denied entrance fee exemption or received a waiver of only half the tuition fee can apply for deferred payment.

The University of Tsukuba will be accepting applications for exemption of tuition for the two periods of April-September and October-March.
Application Acceptance Period
・The First Period (tuition exemption for April-September): From beginning of February to middle of February (Current Students)
・The Second Period (tuition exemption for October-March): Further details will be announced later.
